Troy Man Arrested For Stealing Bottles From Boy Scout Troop
Kids man, why do you people take from our kids? That's one thing I'll never understand. A 21 year-old Troy man has been arrested for stealing close to $575 in returnable bottles and cans from Boy Scout Troop 537. Those nickels add up don't they?
State police arrested David A. Castagnier II for Petit Larceny after they say he had stolen the cans from the Brunswick based troop. Apparently, Castagnier II had been taking the cans and bottles since Thanksgiving. Scout Master Wayne Christiansen noticed the cans dwindling away and set up a camera at two separate locations being maintained by the troop.
On Jan. 3 Wayne Christiansen reviewed the tape which showed Castagnier II stealing the bottles and cans. Castagnier II was confronted by troopers and admitted to taking the bottles and cans and was arrested.
He was released and given an appearance ticket and is due back in court Jan15.
