Update: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have now revealed the full song "a minute to breathe" from the 'Before the Flood' documentary. Hear it in the player above.

The projects are piling up for Trent Reznor, but we're starting to get a little taste of music. It was recently revealed that Reznor and his scoring partner Atticus Ross were lending their talents to the score for the upcoming environmental documentary Before the Flood, and the pair have teased a new song called "a minute to breathe" from the film.

As seen in the video below, the song provides a haunting soundscape over time lapsed and quick cutting footage of different environs that are infiltrated by pollution. The Before the Flood documentary was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Fisher Stevens, and is set to air globally in 171 different countries and in 45 languages on the National Geographic Channel beginning Oct. 30. In addition to Reznor and Ross, Gustavo Santaolalla and the band Mogwai collaborated on the score for the film. Check out "a minute to breathe" below:

These are busy times for Reznor, who along with Ross, recently agreed to take on the film scoring for the upcoming Peter Berg-directed film Patriots Day, which centers on the Boston Marathon bombing and stars Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Michelle Monaghan and Kevin Bacon.

In addition, some may remember that at the end of 2015, Reznor tweeted that there would be new Nine Inch Nails music in 2016. In an Instagram posting showing Ross and Reznor with Fisher to promote the Before the Flood film, a fan asked Reznor, "What's the word on new NIN in 2016 like you said, Trent Reznor," to which the musician replied later in the thread, "2016 is not over yet." So stay tuned to see if there is some Nine Inch Nails music getting in under the wire before the calendar hits 2017.
