Here we are, the end of 2013.

Where has the year gone? Seems like yesterday I was cooling my bottle of Jägermeister and cranking up the radio for the New Year's Free-4-All. Well, a year has gone by and we had some amazing music get released.

It was pretty hard to choose just 5 song but these are my 5 favorites of 2013.

    Battle Born

The first single from the band's "Wrong Side of Heaven & Righteous Side of Hell Volume 2." The first time I heard this song I likened it to the power ballads of the 80's, sure their label rep didn't like the comparison but it is such a powerful song

    Deal With The Devil

Second single and consecutive #1 song from their 'Onyx" album, Pop Evil delivered an anthem-like rocker and I must say the song is 10 fold better live.

    From Can To Can't

A selection from the Dave Grohl documentary about the Sound City soundboard in which the legendary frontman using to this day - including to record the soundtrack. The soundtrack featured a wide array of artist who at one point and time recorded at Sound City and bringing them together for an amazing collaboration.

From Can To Can't featured Grohl along with Corey Taylor, Rick Nielsen, and Scott Reeder.

    Good Man

2013 saw the emergence of band from the ashes of their former, talking about Devour The Day - which featured Blake Allison & Joey Chicago of the now defunked  Egypt Central.

Their debut "Time & Pressure" will be re-released in 2014 featuring a new mix on the album and 2 bonus songs. "Good Man" was the first single to come off that album.

    Aunt Betty

2013 saw the sophomore release from Middle Class Rut called "Pick Up Your Head" and the first single was "Aunt Betty."
