Tomb Raider Logs 1 Million Players Only Two Days After its Release

Everyone knew that the release of Tomb Raider was going to be a big success, but could anyone have predicted how big of a success?
Karl Stewart, Tomb Raiderâs global brand director, recently tweeted that over one million gamers have played Tomb Raider in its first 48 hours. Itâs not particularly clear what that figure he is referencing. It could be Tomb Raiderâs current sales. It could be the number of players who have logged on to a multiplayer server. Still, regardless of what it is, one million of something is still impressive. It had to, at the very least, amount to one million copies sold in the first two days, which is an impressive feat itself.
Evidence of these high sales numbers can be found at any local retailer, as outlets across the country are announcing sold out inventories of Tomb Raider. Square-Enix has announced that additional shipments of the game will be made soon to any store that may be running low. If you still havenât picked up a copy, you might want to considering going digital distribution in order to avoid all these retailer shortages.
Tomb Raider is currently available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
