While show options might not be everything everyone was hoping for at least there are shows to choose from  here in the Capital Region.

So we've been following the the payout of this Ticketmaster lawsuit, that finally got finalized a few weeks back, for the last couple of weeks now (if for some reason you are not up to speed you can catch up HERE and HERE). When we last left off the ticket giant had released some free ticket vouchers as part of their retribution of the class action lawsuit that took 13 years to come to fruition!

While many people seemed pretty pleased to be receiving some free tickets, that initial excitement soon deteriorated as some vouchers seemed to appear and then disappear. Not to mention that they were told there was a website to log on to with a list of available shows to redeem your vouchers only to find out that the site wasn't really available.

Well, yesterday Ticketmaster finally made that site available and released their list of shows and a lot of people are not to happy. Not only with their show options but with the locations of their show options. Now while the show options available do contain some pretty cool shows like Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin, Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, even a few Black Sabbath dates most shows seem to be from less "popular" bands and bands from "yesteryear". Plus you'll notice that there really are no shows in major cities. That's because according to Live For Live Music -

All of the 450 eligible shows take place at 34 different Live Nation-run venues, meaning that most of the shows take place in amphitheaters outside of major metropolitan areas. Also, most of the concerts are part of full tours promoted by Live Nation.

Luckily for us we are not in a major metropolitan area and there is several options available to us in our own backyard at SPAC! Personally I feel that there are a ton of tours that only hit "major metropolitan areas" and we have to drive all the time sooo peeps in the big cities can quit being so spoiled and suck it up and make a drive for a show for once, but that's just me.

I also noticed that last night a lot of the voucher slots had been "sold out" already which kinda sucks but remember these vouchers are good until 2020 so inevitably more shows will be added down the line and I'm sure the whole process has to get a bit better at some point. Right?

If you want to see the list of available shows you can click HERE. The list is kind of hard to navigate but the TU put together a list of local shows you can check out with those vouchers you can check out that list HERE.
