Happy Birthday today (March 30) to former Queens of the Stone Age drummer Joey Castillo. (He's 51). Other rockers celebrating include singer Steve "Sex" Summers from 80's hair metal band Pretty Boy Floyd (49) and guitar legend Eric Clapton (72).

Joey Castillo statred playing drums at 15 and was influenced by the music of Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and Black Flag, among others. He played drums for Queens of the Stone Age from 2002-2012, joining after the departure of Dave Grohl. He recorded 2005's Lullabies to Paralyze and 2007's  Era Vulgaris. He also contributed to the band's 2013 ...Like Clockwork album but was fired by band founder Josh Homme during the recording process. Castillo has also played with the band's Danzig, Eagles of Death Metal, California Breed, and Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts. Cheers today to this rockin drummer!
