Think Of It As Beer For Breakfast, Brown’s Oatmeal Stout

With so many beers to offer, this weeks beer as me right back where I was last week. At Brown's Brewing in Troy for some of their Oatmeal Stout.

Dark and sweet. That's how I would characterize this brew from Brown's in Troy. The place has so many different types of locally made beer, how could I not highlight another one? The Oatmeal Stout was something very different. It had the heavy quality that a fan of Guinness can appreciate, while it had a big flavor tat would hook anyone it.

The thing that took me by surprise with this one, was that it is made with chocolate. At first you can't tell, but as you get more into your pint, it's very clear that there is chocolate. I'd call it a welcome surprise. Once again, like the Pale Ale, it's made with caramel hops, which give it a nice sweetness. The question that comes to mind is, what can't Brown's do with beer?

Now I will say this. It's a heavier beer, so I wouldn't recommend it with a huge meal, but to each their own. Eat, drink, and be merry, right? You'll for sure want to grab a pint of this when you get a chance. Cheers!
