What if you could make quick, instant booze like you would make water flavored with Crystal Light or Kool Aid? Say 'hello' to the future friend; powdered booze is here.

Last week the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau approved Palcohol; which is powdered booze, just add to water.

The original website for Palcohol glamorized what can be done with powered booze:

What's worse than going to a concert, sporting event, etc. and having to pay $10, $15, $20 for a mixed drink with tax and tip. Are you kidding me?! Take Palcohol into the venue and enjoy a mixed drink for a fraction of the cost.

Since the approval last week, the site has since been 'cleaned' to reflect a more respectable product and not one for boozing it up on the down-low.

This glorious invention will hit store shelves this fall but if begs one to wonder why the US government approved such a product. This could easily become a bigger issue, long term, than Four Lokko was several years ago. You can literally sneak booze in to anywhere that you have access to a cup of water.

Palcohal, however, is keeping that new 'clean' image by saying on their site:

What we can say now is that we hope the product will be used in a responsible and legal manner. Being in compliance with all Federal and State laws is very important to us. Palcohol will only be sold through establishments that are licensed to sell liquor.

There will be several different versions of Palcohal including

  • Vodka
  • Rum
With several flavors
  • Cosmopolitan
  • Mojito
  • Powderita (which is a Margarita)
  • Lemon Drop
Will be interesting to see the reaction upon it's release as well as how it taste.
