The 25 Highest-Paid Musicians Worldwide

Getty Images

Have you ever wondered how much musicians and bands make or who the richest bands are? Well, here is a list (via Forbes) of the world’s 25 highest-paid musicians. It has a wide array of genres and bands, and some that I think deserve what they make, while others I don’t think should even be getting paid at all. Read through the list and see what you think.

  • 25. Rihanna- $25 million
  • 24. Kenny Chesney- $30 million
  • 23. Rascal Flatts- $34 million
  • 22. Muse- $35 million
  • 21. Tim McGraw- $35 million
  • 20. Beyonce Knowles- $35 million
  • 19. Sean “Diddy” Combs- $35 million
  • 18. AC/DC- $35 million- tied with the four above
  • 17. Jay-Z- $37 million
  • 16. Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers- $38 milliom
  • 15. Brad Paisley- $40 million
  • 14. Katy Perry- $44 million
  • 13. Taylor Swift- $45 million
  • 12. Usher- $46 million
  • 11. Toby Keith- $50 million
  • 10. Dave Matthews Band- $51 million
  • 9. Justin Bieber- $53 million
  • 8. The Eagles- $60 million
  • 7. The Black-Eyed Peas- $61 million
  • 6. Paul McCartney- $67 million
  • 5. Michael Buble- $70 million
  • 4. Lady Gaga- $90 million
  • 3. Elton John- $100 million
  • 2. Bon Jovi- $125 million
  • 1. U2- $195 million

Actually, after looking at these now, the majority are a disgrace. Why should these talentless hacks steal all this money when they can’t even sing? Rock and metal bands are amazing, and they travel in tiny buses and live solely on ticket and merch sales, but they don’t care because to them it’s all about the music and the fans, which is the way it should be. There’s no reason in the world why these “stars” have to charge as much as they do for everything. Metal bands get no recognition or attention, but that’s because they’re good enough on their own and don’t need to be promoted by the media, but still they charge the least amount they can for tickets and merch. It’s just sad that these artists make this money for no reason. Hopefully this will change one day, but I won’t count on it.

What do you think of this list? Who would you like to see on this list and who would you like to see removed?
