This may be one of those claims that is just too good to be true. Two companies in Taiwan are saying that together, they have developed a USB v3.0 flash drive that reportedly holds 2 Terrabytes of data. That is more storage than the average hard drive in new computers being sold today.

During Display Taiwan, a flat panel display expo, the 2 companies revealed the flash drive that was about as long as your thumb and and just a little thicker then a penny. If you look at current USB flash drives, that is almost too good to be true. And neither company has released details on the device yet, because USB 3.0 hasn't been finalized yet, as an international standard. But you can still buy USB 3.0 hard drives locally in Best Buy. After the technology for USB 3 is approved, it'll start to sell the drives.

There is no word on when that will happen or how much the new drive will be, but when it is able to be sold, it will be released in Taiwan first and then other countries later on.

I kind of have to call "shenanigans" on this one. USB 3.0 drives, are already available to the public. So why are your really holding it back? Either it doesn't live up to their claims, or it's so expensive to make, it's not cost effective. You would have to pack a lot of tech into something that small to hold that much data. The other thing that makes me call shenanigans, is there may be no practical use for it yet. But that never stopped people from buying something before. And what would you fill it with? The video below shows what the device would look like, and is little on any detail, but does show you what it would look like.
