The first day of summer is here, and it's letting us know it. Near record heat is on the way, as the Albany area is going to be in the mid-90's for the next few days.
Summer has come to Albany with a bang. Just after memorial Day kicked off the beginning of the season we get severe thunder storms bringing tornado watches and golf ball size hail. Now many are without power.
In case you hadn't noticed, mother nature decided to remind us that it is in fact winter and we are still in the northeast. Now there are several snow emergencies in effect.
People in the Albany area have been pretty lucky so far this winter. Mild weather and virtually no snow, but that is about to change with a storm on it's way for Wednesday.
Everyone has a ton of snow storm photos in the Albany NY area. We always gets more than our fair share of snow storms (most winters), and we can never see enough great photos of snow. This past weekend most people celebrated Halloween since it is tomorrow- on a Monday, yuck! As I went to my Facebook page I saw a lot of my friends had posted pictures from their Halloween parties and ventures. However, with the fun came two snow storms that made headlines everywhere. Today, all weather advisories are over. Too bad the snow couldn't have waited until the holiday weekend was over!
It's hard to believe that we're already delivering this news but Mother Nature continues to be nasty to us in 2011 as we are facing a pretty severe winter storm and it's only October! After the jump read the warning from the National Weather Service in Albany as well as some information you may need to know as the storm rolls in.
Just when you thought it was safe... it's lurking nearby...coming close while you sleep...lock the windows... stay indoors... it's deadly and by tomorrow morning it will kill everything in its path!! The first frost of the season is on it's way Thursday morning according to the National Weather Service.
