After a few weeks of hype, Season 9 of VH1 Classic’s ‘That Metal Show’ kicked off last night (which isn’t its regular night, mind you) with the mother of all interviews and on National Metal Day. The camera-shy, elusive W. Axl Rose agreed to a sit down with Eddie Trunk and co. in the early morning hours in Miami. He was rather candid and shared his thoughts on his lateness and lawsuits. He also revealed his original idea for the ‘Appetite for Destruction’ cover.

Nickelback has a new album due out in November and on that will be the singles 'Bottoms Up' and 'When We Stand Together'.  The band is getting ready to release a brand new video for 'When We Stand Together' and here is a 30 second preview of it.   According to the Nickelback facebook page, this will have to do until the video is officially released.

VH1 announced they will televise a never before seen concert film, NIRVANA: Live at the Paramount simulcast on all three channels September 23rd at 11pm.   The 1991 Halloween concert filmed at Seattle's Paramount Theater features the band performing 'Lithium',  'Sliver' and many others from Nevermind.

Last week it was a huge shock to the music world when former Warrant singer Jani Lane was found dead in his hotel room.  An episode of VH1 Classic's That Metal Show featuring the late singer was scheduled for later this year, but it's air date will now be moved up.
