October 29, 2012 Gov Cuomo has just announced that the Tappan Zee Bridge near New York City will close at 4PM today (10/29) due to the high winds associated with Sandy. Today while driving the Northway to work, I passed a couple cars and noticed some weird actions happening. One man was shaving, another was eating and a woman was actually reading a newspaper. No wonder there are so many accidents on I-87! Now I want to know; "Whats the weirdest thing you do while driving by yourself in a car". Take the poll or comment freely.
Even though Tropical Storm Irene has moved on, she has left quite the path of destruction behind for us to clean up. It is causing some major traffic problems across the Capital Region, which could make commuting this morning just a little bit trickier. Here is a list of road closures from around our area.
Cracked roadways on Downtown Albany's south mall expressway will have that road closed for some time as they work on repairs.

December 2, 2010 We’re all used to snow here but we know Buffalo has it much worse. A storm yesterday dumped at least 19 inches closing a ten mile stretch of the Thruway (I-90). People have been trapped on the road in their cars for nearing 16 hours!
