They hail from Orem, Utah. They have toured everywhere from New York to Australia to Japan. Their fans are scattered all over the world. They have overcome poverty, homelessness and drug abuse. They have gone from underground basement band to world famous headlining stage crew. They are strong and talented. They are The Used, and they're my favorite band of all time and are performing tonight at Northern Lights!

Breathtaking, awe-inspiring and masterful are just three words that come to mind when describing Vulnerable, the fifth studio album by Orem, Utah-based band The Used. It came out this past Monday and didn't take long to win me over. The Used is my favorite band, and has been since I was 16. No matter what they write it's always amazing and always different than what they produced before. I'd say the quartet are at their highest musical peak yet, and I hope they stay there for awhile.

I'm not a fan of Christmas music- at all. Every year when it comes on the radio and I hear it everywhere I go, I groan and moan. It's old, corny and annoying, and basically just reinventions of all the classic holiday songs. However, there are a handful of songs that I do like, because they're originals as well as covers, but done by modern rock bands that put their own spin on the songs. Here are my top five unoriginal Christmas songs (not in any particular order).

New D.R.U.G.S Album Is Awesome [Review]

If The Used, Chiodos and Panic! at The Disco mated and had a musical love child, D.R.U.G.Swould be the miraculous result. With sounds similar to The Used and PATD and vocals similar to Chiodos, the band was destined to be an impressive and musically satisfying piece of art. I highly recommend getting a copy of the album, which released on February 22.

If you didn't already know, The Used is my most favorite band in the music world. I've been obsessed with them since I was in high school. I've seen them three times so far, have written a 15-page review on them and have their best album name tattooed on my feet. They're completely amazing and inspiring and there will never be a band better than them or even similar to them. It's been years since their last album, "Artwork" came out, and the word is that their newest album is in the works! YAY!
