Stone Sour guitarist Josh Rand let the beans spill in a recent interview about Cavalera Conspiracy and Soulfly bassist Johny Chow helping the band out with their touring bassist vacancy, but now the band has made an official announcement with Rand telling fans the news via a Facebook posting.

Corey Taylor is ready to put aside his mask and get back into Stone Sour mode. The singer and his group recently revealed the interconnecting single ‘Gone Sovereign/Absolute Zero,’ and now they’re ready to share it with audiences.

Stone Sour are releasing a live DVD, filmed during their 2010 tour, that will only be available to members of their ‘Dead Generation’ fan club. Fan Club member or not, you can still check out this clip of the band performing ‘Digital (Did You Tell)’ from the ‘Live at Brighton’ DVD.

The music world just keeps receiving bad news. In addition to the loss of Beastie Boys co-founding member Adam Yauch to cancer, Corey Taylor-fronted quartet Stone Sour has announced that their bassist Shawn Economaki has parted ways with the band.

Corey Taylor's side project band Stone Sour have just begun the recording process for their fourth upcoming album, which is set to release this fall. With the majority of the record already written, the band went straight to the recording studio, and is again working with Roadrunner Records.

Corey Taylor had one hell of a year in 2011. Slipknot returned to the stage after the tragic death of bassist Paul Gray and Taylor went on a spoken word/acoustic solo tour and even released the New York Times bestselling book, ‘Seven Deadly Sins.’ In that vein, Taylor has wasted no time in 2012, hyping up the upcoming album from his other band, Stone Sour.

Over the summer Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor gave a lecture at Oxford University in England.  He spoke to over 100 students and gave a simple message to them; forget chasing dreams and do what you're good at.

Earlier this week we had news that Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor would be embarking on a solo tour.  Taylor made the official announcement with a very funny video parodying some of the great wrestling "smack talk" videos of the past.  All I can say is that I hope the "Green Beamer" makes an appearance at some of Taylor's shows.
