We haven't made very much of Starz's recently-premiered and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson-produced gangster drama 'Power,' but as we've come to expect from the cable network, Starz isn't waiting very long to double down. Following a modest premiere, Starz has officially greenlit 'Power' for a second season to air in 2015, and with an expanded order at that.

In recent years we've seen Starz struggle a bit beyond its usual two-season order, canceling 'Magic City' after its initial run while the likes of 'Black Sails' had difficulty breaking out with an audience. That said, 'Da Vinci's Demons' remains strong enough that Starz officially elected to press on with its season 3 in 2015, albeit with a reduced role for series creator David S. Goyer.

We haven't made very much of Starz's new offerings since 'Spartacus' went off the air, but the network's latest acquisitions are bound to turn a few heads. Already guaranteed for two seasons, Patrick Stewart and frequent collaborator Seth MacFarlane have teamed for a new journalism comedy series, 'Blunt Talk,' partnering with 'Bored to Death' creator Jonathan Ames for a 2015 premiere.

I was a big fan of Spartacus: Blood and Sand and was devastated when I heard that lead man Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma.  The disease was not only going to take a toll on his health, but also on a show that became very popular.  Starz has decided to move forward with a new Spartacus for this coming season.
