When I heard about the Lucasfilm and Disney merger I had to comment. I am a huge fan. Like Billy Fucillo Huge. I saw the original Star Wars in 1977 at the Vail Mills Drive-in near Broadalbin, when my older sister Kathy, decided to take me because we both shared a love of science fiction. Star Trek was what helped me to bond with my sister and when Star Wars was announced, we had to see it! Now with Lucasfilm being sold to Disney, many people are scared, worried and even upset about the future of Star Wars. I was worried too, till now.

Lately I've been on a Star Trek kick. I've been watching some old episodes of Enterprise and The Next Generation. So when I came across a story about a Canadian man building a real working Tricorder, I had to check it out. The really interesting part about it is, he's doing it open source, so anyone can take his work, and build their own, or improve it.

And so, after 25 or so years, my geek dream is coming to life! A new TRON movie. Ever since I saw the first and was gobsmacked by the effects, I have dreamed of the day I could see the next chapter. And now, the house that the mouse built is making it come true.
