On Friday night Savannah's was packed wall-to-wall with locals who came out for the bar's final weekend and to support three bands who were vying for the opening spot at this year's Q-Ruption Festival which is just six days away. Check out the photos below.

After close to two months of voting by fans and being judged on musicianship, originality, ability to draw, songwriting, and vocal ability, three local unsigned bands have been selected to perform at the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands Friday August 24th at Savannahs in downtown Albany. The winning band will open Q-Ruption, find out who they are.

So far, local bands Pipebomb and Tamerlane are in the running, and the final three bands Kolekora, Selfish Needy Creatures and UnCivil Liberty all competed for that coveted last spot in the finals next week, for a chance to play Q-Ruption alongside some of the biggest names in rock. This past Friday, round two of Q-Ruption's Play for the Stage took place at Savannah's on South Pearl Street in Albany. The Hearing Aides, Tamerlane and Potter's Field all competed and played for 20 minutes to win a chance at the finals later in the month. Last week, Pipebomb was the big winner.
