Several records fell at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London on Friday, as the United States extended its overall dominance. Here are the highlights of the day’s events:

US Gymnast McKayla Maroney was a sure thing for a gold medal on vault at the 2012 Summer Olympics, all she had to do was stick the landing.  Instead she fell and had to settle for silver. Winning an Olympic Medal should be exciting enough, but not for 16 year old McKayla as she stood on the podium she scowled in a way that became viral.

It seems that the less clothing the female Olympians wear, the more interested we are in the sport. Thank goodness track and field is in the spotlight right now.

After the United States beat Japan to get the gold, they were given some t-shirts to put on. Little did they know that people would be disgusted by it.
