For the first time since 2008, Megadeth is relaunching its critically acclaimed rock festival called Gigantour. Motorhead, Volbeat and Lacuna Coil, all personally picked by Dave Mustaine will join Megadeth on a tour that starts in January 2012. Rumor has it that on February 1st, Gigantour will be making a stop in Albany.
Whether it's intentional or unintentional, sometimes a rock band develops a mascot that sticks with them throughout their entire career. The fans seem to love it and they become just as beloved as the band members themselves. So
Before the bands from the Big Four took the stage at Yankee Stadium earlier this week they sat down to talk about the rivalries, if any, that went on during the 1980's.
One of the things that has been going on at the end of Metallica's set at the Big Four gigs is that they bring out members of Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer to jam on a track they all love. They all did a version of the Misfits "Die, Die My Darling" and this time they decided to rock out to some Motorhead. It looks like some listener shot footage from the show at Yankee Stadium, but the quality is ok. So if you didn't get to be there, live vicariously through this.

Megadeth has been very busy the last few years. The released one of the greatest albums of their storied career with End Game in 2009, toured with the Big Four and now have finally set a release date for their much anticipated 2011 album, TH1RT3EN.
I don’t remember seeing this when I watched the Big Four simulcast at the Crossgates theater last year. Can you imagine Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax all on the stage together? If you’re going to the show at Yankee Stadium on Sept 14th, here’s a little taste of what you’ll get.
For those of you hoping for a full fledged 'Big Four' tour across the States, you can start hoping for something else because it is most likely not going to happen.
