Seems like everything and everyone has their own holiday at some point in the year. Outside of the major ones (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, etc), it's tough to keep track - especially in June.
In observance of President's Day we take a look back at how much those who have held the office of President appreciated beer. As a matter of fact, beer was considered safer than water when the Pilgrims arrived, and they landed where they did because they were running out of beer.
I'm definitively intrigued by this. According to a new survey, about 60 of Americans will celebrate Valentine's Day this year. That's only second to St. Patrick's Day for the most hated holiday of the year. How can this be?
Now that we are "officially" in the season, for me it doesn't start until Thanksgiving Day, I begin to dust off my favorite Christmas Comedy DVDs. From my childhood to today, here are my Top Christmas Comedies.
We are big fans of Hanna over at 'My Drunk Kitchen' - it is by far one of our favorite YouTube series. If you aren't familiar with the show, Hanna gets drunk while trying to demonstrate how to cook and bake. We relate - it's exactly how we handle the kitchen too. Sometimes we even do laundry after hitting the silly soup.
Surrey Police are sending some holiday cheer and reminder serial offenders that they are on their "naughty list" with a series of Christmas cards. The cards are also to remind the recipients the consequences if they re-offend during the holidays.
As Black Friday and the holiday shopping season approachs, some will deal with the crowds while other will... shop from their porcelain thrown. A new study says more Americans are shopping from the toilet these days.
I had the great pleasure of talking on the phone with Brent Smith of Shinedown on November 20th as the band takes a much deserved break for the holidays. We talk about the up coming tour in 2013 with Three Days Grace & POD, spending the holiday with family, the new video for "I Will Follow", along with looking back at the 10 years since their debut album.
William Mitchell, not pictured, has been playing Santa Claus for 6 years. He isn't a mall Santa, rather one that is hired for private parties and corporate gathers. Recently William was told he had to pony up money for a Business License or get fined.
The holidays are upon us. Over the weekend I took a shopping trip to the mall and I noticed that the holiday parking is in effect. No spots, blinkers blazing, and stalking shoppers as they are walking out. It's only mid-November, it's only the beginning.
