Intergalactic metal mongers GWAR are holding a mouthwatering event to kick off the latest leg of their 'Fate or Chaos' tour. Along with celebrating the great mass of death the act are certain to spread, GWAR will also use their 'Meat and Meet' to premiere their 'GWAR-B-Q' sauce, concocted by the hands of guitarist Balsac, the Jaws of Death.

It still doesn't seem real that Beastie Boys member Adam 'MCA' Yauch passed away earlier this year. As a part of one of modern music's most definitive group, the man was an innovator of the highest order. There has been countless tributes paid to MCA since his death, and the latest homage was delivered with style by GWAR front-thing Oderus Urungus and current tourmates Cancer Bats, as they came together for a performance of the Beastie Boys classic 'Sabotage.'

At some point in most band's lives they take a classic tune and put their own spin on it. Covers can sort of be a band's rite of passage- once they are successful with their own music and have established themselves they then feel ready to take on old school favorites. This was the case with Richmond, Virginia quintet GWAR, who took on Kansas' 1976 hit "Carry On My Wayward Son." Watch the comical video below.

It was on Nov. 3, 2011 that beloved GWAR guitarist Cory ‘Flattus Maximus’ Smoot departed our galaxy. Since that day, GWAR have shared the grieving process with their fans, continuing on as a four-piece ever since Smoot’s passing and dedicating every live show to Smoot by placing his guitar onstage under a spotlight. Although there was some question as to whether GWAR would recruit a new guitarist, the band have just announced the addition of intergalactic shredder Pustulus Maximus, knownon Planet Earth as Brent Purgason.

The band have since moved on, without forgetting their beloved member, whose character they have decided to retire. Old-school theatrical rockers GWAR were scheduled to kick off 2012 with a European tour, but sadly, the band have decided to cancel, which means more bad news for their fans following the November death of their guitarist Cory Smoot, or Flattus Maximus. The reason for the cancellation, however, supposedly has nothing to do with the passing of their beloved member.

It's been a whole month since 34-year-old GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot, AKA Flattus Maximus, was found dead on the band's tour bus by his fellow band members. His family and friends have not only had to deal with a huge loss, but also the unknown- the reason for his death. The coroner has completed the autopsy and has determined the cause of death.
