Apple, then Google and now Microsoft. Another smartphone is rumored to be available soon, and Microsoft will try and grab a bigger slice of the mobile pie, compared to how much it has now with it's Windows 8 phones. To commemorate what would have been Queen singer Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday this weekend, Google published a Mercury-ized doodle on their homepage, along with an accompanying animated video. Tech Tuesday – Bored with Social Media? Some Kids Are

When Facebook started to get popular, before it was open to the public, I wanted to check it out and try it. I was really happy when it did finally open up to the world. I liked it so much, and after discovering some unsavory ways MySpace was using user data, I ditched it and was Facebook 100%. Now, I'm thinking about ditching Facebook.

Tech Thursday – Zuckerberg Quits Google+

Something that took a lot of people by surprise, myself included, was that Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg had an account on the new social network that Google has started, called Google+. Just to add irony to the surprise, he closed off access to his account so he couldn't be tracked. "Hi Kettle, my name is The Pot. Did you know you're black?"

Tech Thursday – Google+ is Hot to Trot

First, MySpace was the place to hang out online, then along came Facebook, and not only knocked it off it's throne, but gave it a swirly in the toilet to boot! Along the way, MySpace tried to get it's dignity back but nothing worked. Then Google jumped into the fight with Buzz which was a failure. Google Wave made a little bit of a show but still fell flat. Now Google has Google+ and it's getting traction.

Tech Thursday – Google’s Music Locker Launches Without Record Labels

A month ago, I did a story about Amazon's Cloud Player that lets you upload music from your music library on your computer so you can access it from any WiFI or 3G connection. Google has now started it's cloud music service, and in Google fashion it's in limted beta to start, but unlike Amazon, is launching without licensing permission from the labels.
