Police arrested Wally after he was caught making out with and groping a 98 year old woman at a nursing home. So last night, sometime between 9:30 and 10pm, my power did a little flicker, then it was gone. It was pitch black in the house and the lighter and flashlight were in the kitchen. Once Kim and I managed to shuffle our way through the dark to get them and got a candle or two lit, we proceeded to take steps to protect the electronics in the house. This weekend was a big day if you were an Amateur Radio operator in the U.S. or Canada. It was Field Day, when Amateurs, better known as Ham Radio operators, setup stations without using commercial power and try to make as many contacts as possible. It's held the fourth full weekend in June. While it could be considered a contest, it's actually a way for hams to test their response should an emergency happen.
