During coverage of the 6.0 magnitude earthquake that struck California's Napa Valley and San Francisco Bay areas early last Sunday morning, a man claiming to be a cop called into CNN to give some inside information the quake and the recovery efforts. We all know where this is going.

Whenever something happens people take to social media to point out the obvious.  If you wanted to know if it was raining you could check your facebook or twitter feeds.  This morning a 3.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the Los Angeles California area and residents took to social media.   I found ten hilarious tweets from people including celebrities regarding the minor quake.

Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters took to the stage on December 13th in New Zealand.  During their performance the band made history and registered earthquake level tremors directly related to the highs and lows of the Foo's set.   The band also used footage from that earth rattling show to create a video for their new song 'These Days'. As if the United States needed another disaster.  In the early hours this morning the US Geological Survey reported that a 7.1 magnitude earthquake shook the coast of Alaska and now there is a tsunami warning in place.

Today's 5.8 magnitude earthquake not only shook us up, but it also shook up our social networking numbers. Astonishing numbers of comments and tweets were met within minutes of the earthquake.

An earthquake epicentered in Virginia occurred Tuesday afternoon, with people in Washington, DC, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Toronto reporting they felt the tremors, as well. Reports thus far indicate the quake registered a 5.9 on the Richter scale.

There are several programs that have started to give aid to Japan since the major earthquake that struck a couple weeks ago. Apple has stepped up and is offering music as a relief fund.

Today, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook the countries of Myanmar (also known as Burma) and Thailand. Both countries reside in Southeast Asia.

A few days ago I blogged about Iron Maiden releasing another "best of" album that was to cover the past two decades. Now, the band has announced that all proceeds for select merch T-Shirts will be going to the Japanese Red Cross to help victims, restoration and clean-up from the March 11 earthquake and earthquake-induced tsunami.

According to CNN, Sandra Bullock has donated $1 Million dollars to the Red Cross for use in the Japanese Relief effort from the massive earthquake and tsunami last week.
