Dream Theater recently released the DVD 'Live at Luna Park,' and now a new interactive app allows fans to get even deeper into the DT live experience. DreamTheater360° (iOS) was released today (Jan. 9). You can watch a preview video of the app above.

It was a good Christmas for many, but Dream Theater fans got a little something extra in their proverbial stocking this year. The band offered a whole bunch of new live tracks as a thank you for the fan support on their 'A Dramatic Tour of Events' run.

Dream Theater will be getting plenty of frequent flyer miles in 2014. They have a previously announced European tour lined up beginning in mid-January, and have now revealed dates for their North American 'Along for the Ride Tour' that begins March 20 in Toronto.

Dream Theater have received their second overall Grammy nomination. The progressive metal giants were nominated for the golden gramophone in the 2014 Best Metal Performance category for 'The Enemy Inside.' In response to the nomination, Dream Theater have released a statement to show their appreciation.

Metal may not get the wealth of recognition that other genres receive, but the big category that every metalhead music fan should be paying attention to is the Best Metal Performance category. The nominees for the 2014 Grammy Awards were just announced and there's a diverse group of acts populating the category.

It was another good week for heavy music, with pioneers of two different metal genres landing in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. Dream Theater's self-titled album cracks the chart at No. 7, while Metallica's 'Through the Never' soundtrack debuts at No. 9. Additionally, 'Dream Theater' grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Hard Rock Albums chart.

Dream Theater's new self-titled album is now available for streaming in full via Rolling Stone. The band's 12th studio record is sure to please fans, offering epic sound, progressive mastery and some of the heaviest material of Dream Theater's career.

Although Dream Theater frontman James Labrie has gone on record saying that he doesn’t ever see a time when founding member and drummer Mike Portnoy would be invited to return to the band due to Mike Mangini becoming a permanent fixture, the possibility of Portnoy’s latest project the Winery Dogs and Dream Theater sharing a stage is an idea that  Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci is open to. Progressive metal champions Dream Theater are poised to release their latest album, a self-titled effort, next month, marking the group's second disc with drummer Mike Mangini. As we all know, Mangini replaced former drummer Mike Portnoy, who left the band then attempted to return but was rebuffed...

Dream Theater experienced a drastic shift in 2010 when drummer Mike Portnoy announced his departure from the legendary band. Portnoy's plan was to take a temporary break from Dream Theater, but the group chose to cut all ties with their longtime drummer. Despite the drama, Portnoy has just revealed that he would rejoin Dream Theater "in a heartbeat."

At the beginning of June, Dream Theater revealed that their new disc will be self-titled with a release date set for Sept. 24.
