Tuesday night, Northern Lights was alive with a nearly sold out show of co-headliners Anthrax and Testament, and supporting band Death Angel. The line was non-stop for almost two hours as classic, old school thrash metal fans and lovers of all ages packed the venue from corner-to-corner and everywhere in between.
In just 11 days, Chris Cornell is scheduled to play a sold out show at The Egg in Albany, but the question is will the show even happen? He has canceled tonight's show in Miami Beach, Florida, making it the fourth show in a row that he has put a kibosh on.
Friday night, or rather early Saturday morning, after the show at Dublin's with How the World Ends and Not Yet Fallen, I got my second wind and went off to my next adventure to Dutch Apple Cruise line for a party and show with local band and Q-Ruption Play for the Stage winners Selfish needy Creatures. It was the perfect ending to a mind-blowing night, and I was lucky enough to be there for all of it.
Since Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994 and Nirvana‘s inevitable breakup, Dave Grohl has stayed in the limelight and has flourished as the leader and frontman of Foo Fighters.

Northern Lights was packed almost to capacity last night as bands Pop Evil, Escape the Fate and headliners Papa Roach took over the stage and put on an awesome performance. The day included a BBQ with Papa Roach, an interview with Escape the Fate and a blast with Pop Evil. All three bands put on a great show, leaving the crowd with ringing, but nonetheless happy ears and smiling faces. I know I did at least.
Last night, six hardcore metal bands shook up Northern Lights for five hours. The Nightlife, Stray from the Path, For the Fallen Dreams, Motionless in White, After the Burial and headliners Norma Jean all performed and put on an amazing show, which included endless stage diving from the crowd and musicians, along with a live marriage proposal! The only word for the night was: brutal.
