In This Moment's 'Blood' – [REVIEW]

"Music, Love and Sex." These four words come from a track off In This Moment's new album Blood, which released this past Tuesday. It took me awhile to get into it but now that I am I love it. It is a 14-song album and each tune intertwines with at least one of the lyrics I mentioned above and together they tell a story. It will make you want to drop what you're doing and get busy with your woman, or whatever woman is next to you at the time.

Ill Nino Return to the Studio

Latin metal warriors Ill Nino will hit the studio to work on their sixth album next month. The band, which released ‘Dead New World’ via Victory Records in 2010, plans to release the as-yet untitled platter this summer. Then in November of 2010 I was lucky enough to witness their acoustic set, which was simply amazing and left an imprint on my heart and mind forever. American rock quintet Evanescence are getting quite the Christmas gift this year- a certified silver album. The self-titled, 12-track record released two months ago, and has since sold thousands of copies. Perhaps it's because it's been five years since their last release that fans have been suffering from withdrawal, or maybe it's just the pure love that fans have for the female-fronted band. Both are plausible, but I think it's more the latter.

Four-year-old UK quintet Livan came into my life a week ago today. They were lucky enough to open up for Alice Cooper at The Palace Theatre, along with eight other locations. I've already described them in some detail in the review blog, but I did not mention their third studio album, Off the Grid, which came out last year. In four years, the band have created three albums- that's pretty impressive, and proves how talented and ambitious they are, and it shows in this album.

I recently reviewed Five Finger Death Punch's newest album, American Capitalist, which was released about three weeks ago. Since then, the record has gained a ton of well-deserved positive attention and reached career highs- selling 91,000 copies during its first week, and also debuting at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 chart last week.
