Did you happen to catch the "supermoon on Saturday night?  Around the world, skywatchers were amazed with the largest full moon in more than 18 years.

The moon rose big and bright in the night sky Saturday night at a full moon and was only 221,565 miles away. The closest and appearing bigger and brightest full moon since 1993 at just 50 minutes past perigee – the point of its orbit that brings it closer to Earth.

This years Supermoon also claimed to bring unusual natural disasters at the time it passed closest to Earth.

Nasa claimed this Supermoon appeared 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than the full moon the Earth usually experiences.

If you took a photo of the moon, www.space.com wants to hear from you.  Space.com is creating a Supermoon 2011 photo gallery.
