Rumors are circulating that Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash will be making a special appearance to play with the Black Eyed Peas during the half time show of Super Bowl XLV.

Right now according to the Associated Press, Slash is set to join the Black Eyed Peas at half time along with Usher.  Slash is pretty familiar with the Black Eyed Peas.  They got together for a performance at the 2010 Rose Bowl and Fergie did the vocals on the track Beautiful and Dangerous on Slashes solo album from last year.

This doesn't come at much of a surprise.  The guys in charge of the half time show are probably trying to beef things up  a bit.  I know the Black Eyed Peas are a very successful group but I think them performing leaves rock music fans wishing for more.  Plus they have to follow rock icons like The Who, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty and there is no way you put the BEP in the same category as them.  It will be interesting to see this all go down, so I will have my eyes on the half time show for sure now, and not just to see what Fergie is wearing.
