With summer in full swing, I decided it was time to get my butt in gear with my workout schedule. I dread the gym in the summer, I love to be outside, but running by myself can be too repetitive, especially on the hottest days.

I've found that even the most expensive gym memberships don't offer the best group fitness classes. The last thing I want to do in the summer is stand in a small and  hot room staring at the woman's butt in front of me for an hour.

Being a Google and Facebook wiz, I searched for newer ideas. I've heard several people rave about boot camp, but I wasn't going to fork out almost $400 a month for group fitness.

For those of you that don't know what boot camp is, it is a fitness class that entails cardio and a mix of several interval training techniques and excerises. There is no choreography required for this type of boot camp.

The starting price of Albany Adventure is $16 dollars a work-out. If you wanted to go 3 times a week for a month, it was almost $300! Don't get me wrong, the program probably works, but seriously, we're in a recession. I'd also like to mention boot camp doesnt require expensive equipment either.

I came across this company called, Evolution Fitness, on Facebook. Immediately I emailed them and the owner, Debi, got back to me answering all the questions I needed. $10 a class for boot camp and $100 for 12 classes, which you can use at your leisure. I was sold.

I've attended classes at Watervelit and Colonie, so far. I definately feel so good about myself afterward. Debi and Kristi are great trainers. They realize we are humans, not machines. Compared to group fitness at larger gyms, everything at Evolution Fitness is at a much personal level. Everyone goes at their own pace. You meet new people and can socialize, and work-out all your stress. Most importantly, your getting your butt into shape. I hadn't felt that sore post work-out in a very long time. It hurts so good, and I'm ready for more.

If you rock and want to get your butt into gear, I suggest you contact Evolution Fitness. All you need is a yoga mat and 5lb dumbbells, and don't forget your water!
