State Photo Contest is Happening for Females That Hunt

It's hunting season! And, if you're a female that hunts, the state is holding a contest for you right now.

As a female that grew up hunting with my dad, I saw this on newyorkupstate.com and thought it was too cool.  I'm one that has always been about hunting for food (because venison is amazing) but there's nothing wrong with getting a great photo in the process!  The DEC is taking submissions for photos through December 31st, so you've got some time to enter.

They're looking for photo submissions (of course safe and ethical) about  preparing for the hunt, the act of hunting, after the hunt, and with family members.  If you win, you get your photo featured in next year's New York State Hunting and Trapping Regulations Guide.  Also you photo might  appear in Conservationist magazine, social media posts, the DEC website, and other DEC outreach.  You can get all the specifics at the official DEC website!
