Many 'Star Trek' fans felt personally betrayed when director J.J. Abrams ditched the series and jumped ship to 'Star Wars Episode 7.' After all, the two iconic science fiction franchises have been embroiled in a silly war among fans for decades now -- either you're in one camp or the other, it seems. But how would Trekkies feel if Mr. Spock himself, Leonard Nimoy, took a journey to the 'Star Wars' universe?

In an interview that went over all things 'Star Trek,' the legendary actor was asked if he'd be willing to make the leap over to 'Star Wars' to work with J.J. Abrams again. Hardcore Trekkies may be despondent to learn that not only would he, he thinks it'd be a "great idea."

Oooh. Ooooh, wouldn’t that be fun. I would love to. I think it would work wonderfully. I think it would work just great. I think it would be a great idea, and somebody ought to tell him that.

No hesitation whatsoever. Maybe it's time to agree that it's okay to like both 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars' since Spock is okay with both. In any case, the thought of Nimoy playing a role in 'Star Wars,' even a cameo, is enough to make the geek universe explode.

The interview also asked Nimoy about whether or not he's done playing Spock, which turned out to be a question he wasn't prepared to answer:

Wow… That’s impossible to answer. I don’t know. I don’t know what J.J. is going to do. I consider him a very good friend. I think he’s done a great thing for Star Trek. I’m very grateful to him. We all owe him a lot. When someone comes along like he has done and picks it up and elevates it, we should be grateful. So when J.J. calls me, I take the call.

'Star Trek Into Darkness' is currently in theaters and 'Star Wars Episode 7' will arrive in May 2015.
