Originally slated for release this spring, Ubisoft has revealed Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be delayed until later in the year.

The news came via a new trailer from IGN, which announced the new release date of Aug. 20th, along with the news Blacklist would now be available for pre-order at select retailers.

Delays are a pretty common occurrence in the industry, and if Ubisoft wants to take a little more time to get things perfect for Blacklist's release, we'll gladly wait. Anyone who pre-orders Blacklist at Gamestop, Best Buy, or Amazon will get the Dead Coast co-op map, the Upper Echelon suit, and gold sonar goggles. The exclusive Uplay pre-order incentives haven't been disclosed yet.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist will be available on the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. There are rumors of a Wii U version, but Ubisoft has yet to confirm plans for that console.
