As Soulfly near the finish line to the release of their new disc ‘Savages,’ the band has unveiled the album artwork, track listing, and most recently shared a lyric video for the record's first single, 'Bloodshed.'

Frontman Max Cavalera comments on 'Bloodshed,' "The song is about the absurdity of the human condition in territories plagued by bloodshed all over the world. Not just recent events like Iraq, but also historical conflicts such as the U.S. Civil War, World Wars I and II, etc.”

Cavalera also opened up about the making this new disc and working with producer Terry Date. Cavalera called Date “one of the best producers of all time,” saying, “He has done some great records and we have been in contact for a while since he mixed three Soulfly albums in the past."

Throughout the creative process for 'Savages,' Cavalera had the opportunity to work on a full album with his son Zyon. “Before recording the album I first worked closely at home with him in pre-production, and it was great to spend weeks on the songs with Zyon, shaping the sound of the record,” explains Cavalera. “Zyon did a great job and he hits really hard just like his uncle Igor - it was amazing recording with my son. A whole record! A dream come true for a father whose life is dedicated to metal. Savages is a celebration of all that.”

Cavalera's other son Igor makes a guest appearance on 'Bloodshed' too, making 'Savages' a true family affair.

‘Savages’ makes its U.S. debut on Oct. 1 and will be available in several options including digital download, limited edition digipak CD and 2 LP vinyl set.
