With the WINTER STORM WARNING that will be in effect from 10 AM Thursday to 10 AM Friday, several towns are preparing with Snow Emergencies. Here's the updated list.

 

Amsterdam - Beginning on Thursday at noon. The snow emergency requires all motor vehicles to be removed from city streets by 12 noon on Thursday. Any vehicles on the streets will be subject to being towed. Motorists in need of parking accommodations can visit the Amsterdam Police Department Facebook page to view a list of city owned parking lots. "SNOW" pamphlets can also be picked up at the Amsterdam Police Department or at the Treasurers Office in Amsterdam City Hall.

 

Athens - Alternate side of the street parking will be in effect.  Starting at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014, vehicles must be parked on the odd side of the street.  At 6:00 p.m., each day, all vehicles must move to the opposite side of the street until the streets are cleared or the emergency is lifted.

 

Castleton - Beginning Thursday at noon until Friday at noon.

 

Cohoes - Is in effect from Thursday, February 13th from 7AM until 7PM where there will be NO parking on the ODD side of the street and Friday, February 14th from 7AM until 7PM where there will be NO parking on the EVEN side of the street.

Vehicles in violation to the parking restrictions will be ticketed and towed at the owners expense.

 

Glens Falls - Beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday continuing through 7:30 a.m. Friday. During this time on-street parking is prohibited and motorists are urged to curtail any non-essential travel on city streets.

 

East Greenbush - Will begin Thursday at 8 a.m. and end Sunday at 12 a.m. midnight. Residents are reminded that all vehicles are prohibited from parking on any public streets during the snow emergency. Vehicles in violation will be subject to ticketing and/or towing.

 

Greenport - No parking on town streets beginning February 12 at midnight and ending midnight on Friday, February 14. Any cars on town streets will be ticketed and towed.

 

Hudson - Beginning at 8 a.m. on February 13, there will be no parking on the odd side of streets for 24 hours. On Friday at 8 a.m. there will be no parking on the even side of streets for 8 hours. On Friday at 4 p.m. the snow emergency will end. On Saturday at 12 a.m. midnight, the snow removal will begin. For 12 hours there will be no parking on even side of streets. Lenox/Lenox Dale - Beginning February 13 at 6 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 14 are subject to removal at the owner's expense.

 

Mechanicville -  Has declared a snow emergency beginning on Thursday, February 13 at 8 a.m. Cars must be parked on the even side of the street for 24 hours. Effective Friday at 8 a.m., cars must be parked on the odd side of the street for 24 hours.

 

Menads - There is NO PARKING on any Village Street beginning Thursday February 13, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. until further notice.

 

Nassau - Effective immediately, there will be no parking on all roads in the Town of Nassau. Residents are reminded to ensure all vehicles are off roadways and right-of-ways by 10 a.m. Thursday.

 

North Adams, Mass - From 10 a.m. Thursday, February 13th until noon on Saturday, February 15th.  All residents are urged to NOT park vehicles on City streets and to LIMIT their travel during this time to allow for the removal of snow and clearing of streets during this snow event.

The mayor reminds all that the overnight parking ban is in effect and will be enforced and that residents and businesses should clear their sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of the storm as per city ordinance.

 

Town of Schodack - Beginning 8 a.m. on February 13th until 12 p.m. on February 14th, no on street parking allowed during this time.

 

Rensselaer - Beginning Thursday Feb.13 at 8 AM. No parking on the ODD side of streets for 24 hour period. After 24 hours, there will be no parking on the EVEN side of the street.

 

Ravena - begin 8:30 a.m. on Thursday to 5 p.m. Friday. Vehicles will not be able to park on any village street during the period.

 

Stillwater - Beginning on Friday at 12 midnight. There will be no parking allowed on streets until 12 noon on Friday.

 

Troy - Crews will be plowing and salting roads on Thursday. Residents are reminded to follow the permanent posted signs for street cleaning. On Friday, the street cleaning schedule will be followed per usual. On Saturday, residents will need to follow the street cleaning schedule for Thursdays, to allow crews to finish cleaning the streets. Crews will be posting temporary signs to notify people in advance to Saturday's clearing plans.

 

Village of Waterford - Beginning 9:00 AM Thursday February 13, 2014 until all streets are plowed and pushed back. Any vehicles not moved or interfering with snow plowing operations on Village streets or the Village parking lot will be towed at owners expense.

 

Town of Waterford - Residents are asked to park in their driveways and to follow all posted alternate parking signs from 9 a.m. Thursday, February 13, until further notice. Those who are non-compliant will be ticketed and towed.
