Too bad they’re not calling it ‘Shout at the Pumpkin.’ The Smashing Pumpkins have tapped Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee to play on ‘Monument to an Elegy,’ one of two albums Billy Corgan‘s band is planning to release in 2015. And just in case you don’t believe it, the Pumpkins posted a photo of Corgan and Lee together in the L.A. studio where they’ve been recording.

Last month, Corgan wrote on the band’s website that the songs were “arranged and set for drum tracking.” He included a list of tentative song titles he said would comprise the album, “unless I manage to write another corker in the month.”

There’s no word whether Lee would join the Smashing Pumpkins on the road, but he’ll have room in his schedule coming up: The four members of Motley Crue announced earlier this year that they’ve signed a legally binding “cessation of touring agreement” that will prevent any of them from touring as Crue beyond 2015. They’re set to kick off a farewell road trip on July 2 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Along with ‘Monument to an Elegy,’ Corgan & Co. are said to be working on ‘Day for Night,’ another album that’s part of a deal the band signed with BMG. The singer, who founded the Smashing Pumpkins in 1988, posts frequent, if occasionally oblique, updates online on their progress.
