That's right.  According to the guitar player and founding member the band is going to be on a bit of a break for the next few years.

Bad news for rock fans.  It looks like Velvet Revolver will be put on the back burner for a little while while the rest of the band does their own things.  That is according to Slash of course and he would have the best answer to give. I wonder if a lot of that has to do with the fact that they want Alter Bridge front man Myles Kennedy as their singer.  Unfortunately for them Myles is wildly successful in Alter Bridge at the moment so it doesn't look like he will be able to join them.

The biggest problem fro them is the lead singer spot.  Every other position as been filled and I don't see anyone vacating it for some time.  They haven't been able to find a suitable replacement for Scott Weiland since he left back in 2008.  All the rumors about Slipknot/Stone Sour front man Corey Taylor joining the band were just that rumors. Slash says that they did work with him but he just wasn't their guy.  I can see that. I like Corey with Slipknot the most but his style doesn't match Velvet Revolvers sound.  It will be hard to fill Weiland's shoes because he is one of the best lead singers of our time. Probably why they want someone with the voice of Myles Kennedy.

Duff's got his own thing, I've got my thing, Matt's got his thing. Next year I definitely will make another Slash record with Myles Kennedy and go on tour. So at least for the next couple of years, nothing is going to be happening with Velvet Revolver that I can see 'cause I'll be focused on this. And after that's over, if something happens.I'm just not really concerning myself with it right now. We had all these different guys try out, all really good singers, but nobody has fit the thing, so, you know, I have to move on...

-Slash

So there you have it Velvet fans.  We will have to wait a few years before we get anything else out of them.  If that's how long I have to wait to hear Myles Kennedy as the lead singer I have no problem with that.  Until then, like Slash said, we can rock out the Duff's solo project Loaded and his next record which he'll be doing with Myles (hopefully, my fingers are crossed).  Till then lets sit back and enjoy some classic Velvet Revolver tunes shall we?
