2012 is only a couple of days old, and Slash has certainly hit the ground running.  The former Guns n Roses guitarist is putting the finishing touches on a new album recorded with Alterbridge frontman Miles Kennedy and getting ready for a show with Scott Weiland and Velvet Revolver.

January 12th, Scott Weiland will join members of Velvet Revolver including Slash for a show honoring the late composer John O'Brien.    The one off show will take place at House of Blues in West Hollywood for an event entitled 'Love You Madly: A Concert For John O' Brien'  and will honor the recently deceased film/TV composer.

Meanwhile Slash said his new album with Miles is 'RAW'.  They are in the studio now as we speak recording and mixing down the new album with a April release followed by a summer tour.

His band consisting of Miles Kennedy on lead vocals, Todd Kerns of bass, and drummer Brent Fitz have completed three songs,  in the midst of recording 14 more and is rehearsing the s out of the songs to make them sound live when they record them to the album.

Slash says  "We're just going for the one take that sounds good, so my solos are more raw, probably sloppier in a way, because they're very spontaneous to the point where it's in the heat of the moment".

Despite sharing Miles with Alter Bridge Slash has stated this is the best he has ever felt in his career.

To hear a song called Ghost.
