In just two days (Thursday, Aug. 11), Loudwire will present a special performance from Metal Allegiance at Saint Vitus bar in Brooklyn, N.Y. Billed as Made in Brooklyn, the show will see the all-star collective take the stage to perform Deep Purple's legendary live album, Made in Japan, along with a set of classic metal covers. Joining them on the bill will be Chains Over Razors, Martyrd and Magus Beast and we've got the full pre-show recap!

We invited Metal Allegiance to our studio where we were visited first by guitarist Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, who will be rocking his double neck guitar to help take on the organ parts of the iconic Jon Lord. He explained his role in the group (video below) while guitarist Alex Skolnick and bassist Mark Menghi detailed the challenges of covering the live record (video above), which often saw Deep Purple extend classic songs into long, improvised jams. Death Angel's Mark Osegueda will be handling vocal duties for the performance.

Skolnick and Menghi also told us that they will be utilizing the services of two drummers for the show: Kenny Grohowski (Pyrrhon, Imperial Triumphant) for the Deep Purple portion of the set and Fredrik Andersson (ex-Amon Amarth) for the remainder of the set which will likely include covers of other rock and metal classics and original Metal Allegiance songs.

Support act Chains Over Razors recently released the music video for "Damnation" (see below) off their debut album, Crown the Villain. The record was produced by world-renowned drummer Carmine Appice and can be purchased at Amazon or iTunes. Guitarist Mikey Vujasin is looking forward to being in the Big Apple, stating, “We love playing New York. We feed off of the energy the crowds give and we give back, they get rowdy! New York is very supportive to the rock / metal community. We look forward to our next run of shows on the east coast.”
