You have to go back to the 16th century to find a shorter day than today. For those of you that don't own a Delorean that is impossible.   Today is the first day of Winter, arriving a little after 6 pm and is always the shortest amount of sunlight.  Due to last nights lunar esclipse, which happened on the Winter solstice we really get robbed with daylight.
