Twitter is a very powerful thing.  Shinedown's Brent Smith used it to let everyone know that him and his band will head into the studio next month to start work on their next album.

I just recently made a twitter account(follow me here) and I think that it's a great tool for keeping up with news bands and more.  Brent Smith, the lead singer of Shinedown, obviously knew that because he used it to break news to everyone yesterday that  the band would be heading back into the studio next month to start recording their fourth studio album.

According to blabbermouth.net, the guys have 14 songs already written for the new record, which isn't going to be out until some time in 2012.  Shinedown's current release, The Sound of Madness, was massively successful and still is.  All 6 of the singles off the album hit #1 on the US rock charts and the album itself debuted at #8 back in 2008. They are hoping to duplicate that success on their fourth album.
