#SharkNado Is Coming To Albany Theaters

On July 11th the world bared witness to the horror that was SharkNado. The SyFy channel had huge social media scores thanks in part to how bad the acting was and the overall premise of the movie. It was so popular that SharkNado 2 is in the works, this time hitting New York City.

That's not the only city SharkNado will be attacking soon though. The movie will be hitting theaters on this Friday, August 2nd.

Regal Cinemas has announced that at midnight on Friday, nearly 200 of their theaters will host a special one-time screening of the straight-to-DVD movie. Regal says they hope to create a movie going experience like that of screenings of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Chris Sylvia, director of digital marketing for Regal Entertainment Group, told The Hollywood Reporter:

You know how audiences have had fun with Rocky Horror Picture Show over the years. If the internet reactions to this film are any indication, then our moviegoers are primed and ready to enjoy Sharknado larger than life in cinemas. Regal is proud to be giving our guests this chance to fuel the social media whirlwind by inviting friends to come to the show and tweeting reactions.

Ken Thewes, chief marketing officer for Regal, added:

There’s just something epic about watching these huge beasts on the big screen with your friends and family. The crowd reactions will make for a memorable experience in our theatres.

No need to fear driving a great distance to watch SharkNado in theaters, it's coming to Albany! Regal Crossgates Stadium 18 & IMAX will play host to the screening and the cost is only $12.50 a ticket. At this time, it does not look like advance tickets are available for the screening.
