Schenectady must like what Albany is doing, because they are trying to do the same thing in their city. The council is seeking a smoking ban in parks.

Enjoy your cigarettes in Schenectady parks while you can. On August 27th, the Times Union reports that the city will put a smoking ban in place in all of their public parks. This would be the first Albany area to fully ban smoking in parks.

Other places around the region have banned smoking in places like the pools and a playgrounds, but not in the entire park. Crossgates Mall went smoke free back in the spring. It seems like this is a growing trend. You can bet smokers rights groups will be all over this.
