NEWS10 reports that Schenectady Police received a bomb threat from a young boy towards Yates Magnet Elementary School on Sunday.

Dispatchers got the call from what is believed to be a boy around the ages of 7 or 9 years old on Sunday. The caller said he would blow the school up on Monday morning.

Police went in to action searching the school Monday morning and moving the students to a safe location until the "all clear" was given around 10 am.

During the search, parents were able to come sign their child out for the day of school at the special safe location and some parents took part. The remaining children returned to the school for regular classes.

Police are investigating the identity of the child that made the threat at this time and we await more information when available.
