Schenectady Police Department Announces Open Examinations

The Schenectady Police Department is hiring and has officially announced open competitive examinations!  The Schenectady PD announced via their official Facebook page that they are offering open competitive examinations for Police Officer and Police Officer Spanish Speaking.  The actual exams are going to be this Fall, on September 15th, 2018.  Also, they noted on the Facebook announcement that the test won't be posted by civil service until this July.  You can get more information regarding this at information hiring page.  I personally know many people who serve communities with the police force throughout New York and New Jersey, and while the job can be dangerous, you can make a positive difference in your community.  In my nursing role, I work very closely with the police department and some wonderful officers who deal with not just crime and criminals, but safety, and patient transport to Emergency Departments, Crisis units, and more.  Not to mention, with the police department, you've got a civil service job with a (fairly) normal schedule and benefits.  Good luck to anyone participating in the exam!
