Happy Birthday today (Dec. 9) to original Alice Cooper Group bassist Dennis Dunaway. He’s 71. Also celebrating is Green Day drummer Tre Cool (45) and Firehouse drummer Michael Foster (53).

Dennis Dunaway was original bassist for Alice Cooper from 1969-1974. He co-wrote some of the band’s most notable songs, including “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out”. Dennis currently plays live with Blue Coupe (Blue Coupe features Dennis along with Blue Oyster Cult alumni, multi instrumentalist Joe Bouchard and his brother Albert Bouchard on drums). Blue Coupe tours regularly showcasing the music of Blue Oyster Cult and Alice Cooper.

I had a chance to interview Dennis Dunaway a couple years ago and he told me about his days in the Alice Cooper Group and his autobiography titled Snakes! Guillotines! Electric Chairs! My Adventures in the Alice Cooper Group. The book features great road stories from this living legend of rock n roll. Check out the interview below. Cheers to Dennis Dunaway on his birthday today!
