Saratoga Woman Allegedly Held Woman As Personal Slave For Six Years

Servants are usually something you hear about in backwards Countries, and historical events. Turns out one Saratoga woman may have had one as recent as 2011.
NEWS10 ABC: Albany, New York News, Weather, Sports
Apparently Annie George of Rexford, NY didn’t get the memo that President Lincoln passed an amendment ending slavery. She’s in trouble for holding an Indian immigrant against her will from 2005 through 2011. The woman was in charge of cleaning her mansion, taking care of her children, and various other household duties.

George’s lawyer says that the woman just wants to stay in the country, which is why she made a call to immigration in the first place. The woman apparently didn’t receive any sort of compensation, and was forced to work at all hours.

George could be facing up to 10 years in jail if convicted.
