The Rock/Docs film series at the Madison Theater in Albany will feature  “Gimme Shelter” this Thursday night, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m.

According to nippertown.com, the movie is screening in conjunction with an exhibit called “Rock & Roll Icons” on-view at the Albany Institute of History & Art through Feb. 12. The screenings are at 7 p.m. on Thursdays, and began two weeks with Rush documentary, ‘Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage'. Tickets for Gimme Shelter are $10, and $8 for students + seniors. Next week the theater will be showing A Band Called Death, a documentary on the 1970's punk trio Death. Get more info on the film series schedule here.

Gimme Shelter is a harrowing documentary of the Stones 1969 tour, with much focus on the tragic concert at Altamont and will feature and introduction by Andrew Lee. If you are a Stones fan, I recommend going to see this very cool documentary on Thursday night at the Madison Theater.
