Tonight a giant white wall will be erected inside the Times Union Center as Roger Waters brings his The Wall Live show to downtown Albany.    Show begins promptly at 8pm, there is no opening act.  Be aware, parking could be difficult as there are travel advisories for Alive@5, and road construction on I-787.  What can we expect to see tonight at the show?

It appears that a Pink Floyd reunion most likely will not happen with each and every passing year, tonight's show could be a great Pink Floyd finale.

Back in 1980 Pink Floyd’s original, The Wall tour lost millions, something this version of Waters’ tour will not. This rock opera has turned into a fast-paced and seamlessly orchestrated spectacle, thanks to new technology for fans raised on MTV and video games.  As one fan reviewed.. 'I want more'!!

There will be two acts.  The first act kicks off with some major pyro and a plane that crashes into the white brick wall that also doubles as a video screen.  The wall then rises brick by brick, song by song until eventually hiding the band.

The second half will begin with 'Hey You' played live behind – you guessed it – the wall, while Waters performs out front.  Listen for the crisp sound on 'Comfortably Numb' and the light show on 'Run Like Hell' are highlights in the second act.  Oh yeah there is also a giant pink pig.

For those of us, who grew up listening to Pink Floyd's 1979 concept album The Wall - tonight's show will be an amazing treat and one of those shows you have to see in your lifetime.  It will be the closest thing to seeing Pink Floyd live in their heyday.  See you there!   Q103 is hosting the official pre-party at Savannahs before the show on 1 South Pearl Street and the last chance to win a pair of tickets.
